Critical Path Initiative at the FDA - Center for Devices and Radiological Health
My research at the FDA at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health in the Office of Device
Evaluation is centered on evaluating the safety and performances of cardiovascular devices and
understanding the
in vivo biomechanics of the cardiovascular system.

I am a co-principal investigator on a Critical Path Initiative (CPI) FDA-funded grant titled “Leveraging
the Simulation-Based Engineering and Medical Imaging Technology Revolutions for Cardiovascular
Devices”.  This grant funds our annual
workshop on Computer Methods for Cardiovascular Devices
and four separate projects that aim to understand the biomechanics of the diseased aorta, diseased
superficial femoral artery, diseased coronary arteries and septal defects, and mitral valves.
